Top-Quality Horse Hay For Sale from J & J Hay Farms
J & J Hay Farms sells only first quality hay period. You can see it, smell it and touch it in every bale we sell. We are certain that our standards for excellent hay quality and consistency will meet or exceed any other horse hay on the market!
Why do we care so much about our hay? Because like you, we understand that hay is the foundation of the horse’s diet providing up to 90% of their nutritional needs.
Superior Hay Starts with the Soil
Farmers say that the quality of your crop begins with the quality of your soil. Our hay is grown in some of the most fertile soils in the country producing nutrient-rich hay that results in healthier, better quality animals.
Once the growing season arrives in early spring, fields are planted with premium grass seed, fertilized according to soil analysis and treated to prevent weed growth. When baling begins in hotter weather, hay is cut, dried and baled at the right state of maturity by professional hay farmers who stay up-to-date on the latest growing methods.
State-of-the-Art Equipment and Digital Technology
Our hay is produced using top-rated equipment such as John Deere tractors, cutters, balers and loaders. Digital technology is utilized to increase yield from every acre of grass, increase bale quality and lower production costs.
Hay is stacked correctly and cured for 30 days in breathable barns where air circulates to aid in the natural curing process. Hay is loaded into water-tight 53’ tractor trailers (not flatbeds with a tarp) using mechanized equipment for maximum transportability and more efficient unloading/stacking at the customer’s destination. Better equipment makes a better bale.
Buying Hay by the Bale
Customers can purchase hay by the bale in person at our flagship feed and seed store Cherokee Feed and Seed located in Ball Ground, Georgia. If you live further away, but plan on attending horse shows in the metro Atlanta, GA area, we encourage you to come by the store and load your vehicle for the trip home. No quantity is too small. We will help you load!
For customers outside of our area, many feed stores sell hay supplied by J & J Hay Farms. Contact Us to find a feed store that carries our hay. If your local feed store does not carry it, ask them to contact us to become a dealer.

Don’t Require a Tractor-Trailer Load of Hay All at Once? No Problem!
If you would like to purchase our first-rate hay but do not require a full trailer load at one time, JandJ Hay Farms has the solution. We can deliver bulk quantities of hay in shorter 28’ foot ‘pup’ trailers that can be dropped off and conveniently unloaded by you – up to three weeks without additional time charges. Each pup trailer holds approximately 300 bales.
These smaller trailers can be parked in virtually any size farm. When empty, simply give us a call and we will pick up the trailer and replace it with another full load of top quality hay from J & J Hay Farms.
Buying Our Hay
You can buy hay from J and J Hay Farms one of two ways depending on your needs:
Hay is delivered on your schedule. Hay unloading is the responsibility of the customer and is not included in bulk pricing. However, hay unloading is an option that can be requested in your bulk hay pricing quote so be sure to ask for it.
*Please note that higher fuel prices may necessitate an additional fuel surcharge to the delivery price of each semi-trailer load of hay.
